As you might have noticed my name is Peter Naglic. I come from Slovenia, a rather small country that is located between Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. My interest in astronomy and photography comes from primary school where I was inspired by some photos that were exhibited in school hall. From that moment I decided to save money for my first telescope. I bought it from Orion Optics and I am very happy with it. At first, I began to explore the night sky with my binoculars because they are a good way to start learning the procedure of locating a celestial object in the sky. When I got my telescope, I almost forgot how important binoculars really are. They are still an important piece of my equipment although my telescope has taken the first place. Well, I really enjoy visual observing, but sometimes you want to show your work to other people, to let them know that you are doing something during the night. The best way to do that is by photographing the night sky. My first camera for astrophotography was Nikon F-75, but the results weren't convincing since the camera required a film and it was quite difficult to get certain details from the photo. So, I decided to buy a DSLR camera Nikon D70s and I must say it changed the whole chapter in my astrophotography. From that moment on I've been trying to get the maximum out of my equipment. Last year I have modified my EQ-5 mount so that I can use autoguiding. I still have a goal to buy a better mount, but I think it is important to use the present equipment as much as I can.
